THE TIME TUNNEL TURNS 60

On Friday 9th September 1966, Irwin Allen's series The Time Tunnel made its entrance on to our television screens. 60 years later, it has stood the test of time. Not only have fans from the 1960's kept this series in their hearts, but also new generations have enjoyed discovering the series with frequent re-runs since the 1990's. High quality DVD and online streamings of the series have followed.

The Internet has made it easier to rediscover your favourite shows and the love for a show like The Time Tunnel inspired a 2002 pilot with a re-imagining of the series, followed by news in 2025 that Legendary Television is exploring options for Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, The Time Tunnel, and Land of the Giants following the success of Lost in Space on Netflix. Big Finish Productions have developed full cast audio adventures which have further illustrated that there is still a lot of mileage storywise for a Time Tunnel theme. How many of us right now would like to travel back 60 years in this very time tunnel to see this series being produced?

You can still find collectibles associated with The Time Tunnel including games, comics, models, collector's cards, photos, etc. Original props go for very healthy prices at prominent auction houses.

Who knows what the next 60 years will be like, but it would be helpful to have access to a time tunnel to explore.
