THE TIME TUNNEL CARTOON
Above is the latest cartoon from talented artist Gordon Foulds, paying tribute to The Time Tunnel and The Master of Disaster. 2024 has marked the loss of a major star of Irwin Allen television, James Darren of The Time Tunnel, whilst on a happier note, the year has coincided with the 50th Anniversary of Irwin Allen's The Towering Inferno. This cartoon brings the two productions together.
JAMES DARREN
The incredibly sad news that we have heard in the past few hours is that James Darren, star of Irwin Allen's The Time Tunnel, passed away on Monday September 2nd, 2024, at the age of 88. James not only starred in The Time Tunnel, but also guest starred in Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, and appeared in the presentation reel for The Man from the 25th Century and in the 1971 television movie, City Beneath the Sea.

THE TIME TUNNEL COMPUTERS

James Darren joined Frankie Avalon (Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea movie) at a 2022 Oscars event on 18th March 2022 in Palm Springs, California.
JAPANESE COLLECTIBLES AUCTION
A new set of Japanese Irwin Allen collectibles are being auctioned on 28th/29th September (US/UK time) on eBay. The auctions feature collectibles featuring all four of Irwin Allen's science fiction series. A Time Tunnel example is shown below courtesy of Hideyuki.
THE TIME TUNNEL UK BLU-RAY SET
The long anticipated Blu-Ray version of Irwin Allen's The Time Tunnel from Revelation Films arrives in November 2018 with a 7 disc set with all the episodes in high definition as well as the unaired pilot episode. Unlike the British DVD set, the Blu-Ray set has the episodes in broadcast order with their cliffhangers at the end of each episode. For more details on this set, click here or on the image below.
CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF THE TIME TUNNEL

Happy 50th Birthday to The Time Tunnel and to all who have travelled through time with us this past 50 years. On Friday 9th September 2016, The Time Tunnel celebrates the 50th Anniversary of its first broadcast in the US on Friday 9th September 1966. Above are the original US TV Guide clippings for the premiere. Time hasn't weakened the popularity of this series as evidenced by the continued interest amongst fans, collectors, authors, and time travellers! The influence of The Time Tunnel is far reaching as many night clubs, events, movies and tv shows take inspiration from the theme and design of the Time Tunnel for their stories, logos and backdrops. In the UK, The Time Tunnel first aired on the BBC on 9th July 1968, and only had a partial run before being shown in a few ITV regions in the 1970s and then experienced a rebirth over 22 years later on late night television (ITV).
