20th CENTURY FOX SEAVIEW LAYOUT BLUEPRINT

20th Century Fox S.S.R.N. Seaview Layout Blueprint

The blueprint of the S.S.R.N. Seaview shown above was sent out to fans who wrote in to Twentieth Century Fox during the 1960s and provides a great insight as to how they invisioned the layout of the Seaview (pre-Flying Sub installation). Blueprint is courtesy of Classic Film & TV Cafe.

SEAVIEW SECTIONAL PLAN BLUEPRINT

20th Century Fox Seaview Sectional Plan Blueprint Prop

Above is a vintage blueprint from the 20th Century Fox Prop Department which went up for sale at the Goldin.co auction on 21 January 2026. It shows the sectional layout plan of the Seaview drawing that you see as a blue picture on the Missile Room wall in the episode Deadly Creature Below. The title at the top of the blueprint says:

The picture below shows a comparison of the blueprint with the onscreen framed picture.

The blueprint comes with a second copy and a Letter of Provenance signed by Virginia Aaron, the wife of David Aaron, who worked in the prop department at 20th Century Fox and who had these items in his collection for several decades.

TWELVE WINDOW MOVIE SEAVIEW MINIATURE BLUEPRINT

Shared below is a gallery showcasing an early blueprint design of the Seaview miniature which gave the planned miniature twelve windows in the observation nose (dated 27 October 1960). This five foot blueprint was for the 1961 Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea movie Seaview which eventually only had 8 windows on the observation deck. The movie Seaview was used in the first season of the 1964-68 television series and then adapted in the second season to incorporate the Flying Sub bay, plus allowing the re-design of the nose to have just four windows.
