Captain Lee Crane's naval officer's coat from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (ABC-TV, 1964-68). An original naval dress coat with brass buttons and gold ranking stripes on the cuffs, worn by actor David Hedison in his role as Captain Crane, the brave captain of the Seaview. Internal Davis Clothing Co. label is handwritten "David Hedison". Accompanied with a studio wardrobe continuity photo of Hedison wearing the costume.
Sold for $750 at the Profiles in History Hollywood Auction 17, 12 December 2003. Note that the cuff of the Commander's uniform has three equal width gold stripes. |
