City Beneath the Sea Concept Art
Original Concept Artwork from City Beneath the Sea (Warner Bros. TV, 1971) by Tom Cranham. Vintage original, finely detailed concept artwork featuring an internal view of the enormous, futuristic underwater scientific installation, repurposed as a city called Pacifica, from this imaginative Irwin Allen film intended as a pilot for a full series. In tempera, gouache, and airbrush elements on 4-ply artist illustration board by artist Tom Cranham, providing an awesome sense of scale to the structure. 38" x 28" image size on 40" x 30" illustration board and signed by Cranham at the lower right. Companion artwork referenced on pp. 344-346 of "The Fantasy Worlds of Irwin Allen" by Jeff Bond, Creature Features 2019. Fine, with moderate wear to the borders and corners, with light surface scuffs to the art. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
