Gemini 12 Approaching Mars
Original Concept Artwork of "Gemini 12" Approaching Mars from the Unaired Pilot "Nowhere to Hide" from Lost in Space (Irwin Allen Productions, 1965-1968). Vintage original concept art from Lost in Space in tempera and gouache with airbrush elements, measuring 12-½" x 33-¼" indented to 15-½" x 39-½" on 4-ply artist board glue tipped to a black archival mat hinged with transparent mylar overlay. The pre-production artwork depicts "Gemini 12" approaching the imperious vistas of Mars, derived from the unaired pilot "No Place to Hide." The "Gemini 12" was modified, primarily by adding a lower deck, though exterior shots were sporadically used for later episodes for "Jupiter 2." Actual artwork reproduced on p. 188 of "The Fantasy Worlds of Irwin Allen" by Jeff Bond, Creature Features 2019. Fine, with light scuffing to the margins of the mat. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
