Irwin Allen | "Aladdin" Original Pitch Art
Estimate: $300 - $500
Starting Bid: $100

An original gouache on board pitch painting for Aladdin, one of three series which Irwin Allen proposed to CBS in 1967. The piece depicts the genie coming out of his bottle.

In The Fantasy Worlds of Irwin Allen (Creature Features, 2019), Jeff Bond writes that the series, which was never produced, would have been:

“a modern take on Aladdin: a young boy who appears from inside a sarcophagus at the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan, having slept 10,000 years, and still equipped with his magic lamp, ‘this wandering minstrel who spread good in the world of yesterday now starts his series of modern adventures.’”

20.5 x 30 inches

Sold for $390 including Buyer's Premium.
