In early 1989, with Lost in Space re-airing in the UK for the first time in nearly two decades, we started to try and find as many Irwin Allen fans as we could to see if many people still remembered his work. Generally, most people we met at the time had not even heard of, or didn't remember, who Irwin Allen was. On 5th August, several of us decided to meet up in London at the Westminster Comic Mart, and from that occasion, the creative ideas started flowing.
